Pair that with freshwater lakes, steams, and rivers galore – there is no shortage of aquatic life here in Texas. Fun fact: They have 70 state parks where fishing is allowed for free!
If you head to the Gulf, you’ll find saltwater fish such as black and red drum, flounder, red snapper, and sea robins. If you choose the inland waterways; you’ll have an abundance of freshwater fish including bass, catfish, sunfish, carp, gar, and bullhead. When you think of Texas, you might normally think of BBQ. After your next visit, fishing in Texas will be at the top of your list!

Can you buy a fishing license at Walmart in Texas?
Yes, you can find obtain a Texas fishing license at your nearest Walmart store. Only a quick application is needed and driver’s license to prove your residency.
